Raising Awareness of Post-Traumatic Osteoarthritis
among Athletic Trainers
& Preventing Concussions

An in-depth discussion on the new role of athletic trainers in managing OA and an update on the advances in concussion prevention. We will have nationally recognized and leading athletic trainer researchers present their new information for our practical use.



Preliminary Program

Objectives:
  • Participants will be able to elevate their awareness about OA within the sports medicine community and improve their clinical management strategies and patient education knowledge as they care for their athletes.
  • Participants will be able to identify three risk factors for post traumatic OA.
  • Participants will be able to describe a new treatment option for joint injury.
  • Participants will be able to develop a prevention strategy for post traumatic OA.
  • Participants will be able to review the vibratory stimuli model of rehabilitation for OA.
  • Participants will be able to describe the pros and cons of using telehealth resources in the care of knee joint injury.
  • Participants will be able to prescribe the correct HuTT protocol to their staff.
  • Participants will be able to identify the common components of a healthy performance nutrition program for athletes.
  • Participants will be able to identify food supplements which do not lead to a healthy athletic performance nutrition plan.
  • Participants will be able to learn about some of the new information and knowledge that is rapidly developing regarding the prevention of concussions.
